Joining the MIT ILP

MIT intellectual resources at your service

MIT ILPNearly two hundred of the world's leading companies participate in MIT's Industrial Liaison Program (ILP). To view the current list of members, click here.

Companies join the ILP for help connecting with MIT's extensive expertise in technology, management and innovation – intellectual resources so broad and diverse that no individual company could assemble them independently.

With access to MIT experts and an ongoing stream of ideas and insights, member companies find that the ILP offers a cost-effective way to:

  • assess the potential impact of research developments
  • stimulate new thinking to sustain corporate growth and maintain competitive advantage

Establishing a Successful Partnership
When your company joins the ILP, you are teamed with an Industrial Liaison Officer who is familiar with your industry and will serve as your personal representative at the Institute.

Possessing an insider's knowledge of the Institute's many cross-disciplinary programs and a collegial relationship with the MIT faculty, your Industrial Liaison Officer can quickly find and connect you with the right people, ideas and solutions.

Your Liaison Officer's first priority is to work with a knowledgeable contact from your company – as well as with company managers interested in establishing MIT relationships – to understand your organization and what you want to achieve at MIT and to develop a customized plan of action to realize your ILP membership objectives.

In implementing this plan, your ILO will recommend, organize and facilitate customized interactions with MIT faculty. Your ILP member fee will depend upon the amount and types of anticipated faculty interactions and activities.

We would welcome the opportunity to tell you more about the Program and to discuss your company's interest in establishing a relationship with MIT.
