Programme for Management Developement
The Program for Management Development (PMD) at the RU Open University is a unique training program for managers. The program is based on an international model and adapted to local conditions to enhance professional knowledge and management skills, performance and every day initiative.
PMD is designed to strengthen the leadership capacity of both individuals and their organizations as well as to increase performance. The benefits for organization investing in PMD are numerous as the skills managers adopt can be used directly, with increased capacity to address future challenges and see opportunities.
The program is especially useful for managers that want to enhance their skills through active learning and make the most out of their time.
Programme Objective
The goal of the PMD program is to support managers in dealing with challenges at work, be open for new business opportunities and take on tomorrow's challenges. Furthermore to utilize tested and practical ways to make the most out of business with regard to new technologies, opportunities and development of the international community.
By creating a learning environment that encourages participants to reflect on and improve their management skills between modules, participants are not only acquiring new knowledge and skills but benefitting directly from using the ideas and tools introduced.
Several of RU´s business partners teach in the program with support from the PMD Council of Specialists. All teachers in the PMD program are experts in their field. Different teaching methods are focused on the importance of active participation in class discussions as well as in teamwork, actual projects, case studies and projects related to the participant's work environment.
Participants Profile
Participants are carefully selected in order to bring together same level of experience and knowledge to maximize participants' learning opportunities and contribution to class discussion. The program is intended for managers with at least three years of management experience.
Programme Structure
The Program for Management Development takes place over a period of six months and consists of five modules 16 hours each. Each module is taught every four weeks, on Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 – 17:00 (plus project work). Different teaching methods are focused on the importance of active participation in class discussions as well as in teamwork and case studies.

Cancellation policy
Cancellations 4 weeks or more before event - No charge for cancellations.
Cancellations 2 weeks before event - 50% of fee charged.
For cancellations in 1 week or less before event - Full fee charged.
All cancellation requests, transfer requests or changes to registration must be sent via e-mail.
