Entrance Prerequisites
Theoretical as well as practical prerequisites are required to enter the Preliminary Studies program. If the applicant does not have a journeyman's examination, he/she must have completed a vocational school or have at least two years of practical experience. The Department of Preliminary Studies also offers courses in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics for those who have an matriculation examination but need more preparation in especially Mathematics and Physics before entering studies at the university.
The program of the Preliminary Studies takes up to two years, depending on the applicants´ theoretical prerequisites. A full time study is 21 (26,25 ECTS) on the first semester but 24 (30 ECTS) credits on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th semester. Most instruction is in day-school but many courses are offered as E-learning courses in collaboration with other institutions.
