Start your coach training with either of our two 77-hour coach training programs:CCU-C-logo

  • the Core Essentials Program™  (CEP) or
  • the in-person Core Essentials Fast Track Program™  (CEFTP)

They both offer beginning and intermediate courses to develop strong foundational and core coaching skills.  These skills are essential for coaches providing individual and/or organizational coaching services.  These programs, now enhanced with practice and project labs, have been designed to teach you core coaching skills, deepen your personal foundation and learn practical practice development skills as efficiently and conveniently as possible.

These programs are for:

  • People who are looking for fundamental core courses in coach training.
  • Coaches looking to blend the Coach U approach with other training programs.
  • Individuals who are interested in developing coaching skills to use in other professions.
  • People who intend to become well-trained and masterful credentialed coaches.

Once all basic program requirements have been satisfactorily fulfilled, coaches may apply for Core Essentials Graduate and/or upgrade to one of CoachInc.com's advanced coach training programs.

Core Essentials Fast Track ™ Details

For the live and in-person Core Essentials Fast Track Program, in addition to the program investment, you will have additional costs for travel, meals and accommodations expenses (textbooks will be provided on-site).  The majority of this program is delivered in-person.  Here's an idea of what you will do to graduate from this very popular program:

  • Participate in the one-hour New Student Orientation TeleClass before the live session
  • Attend the 6-day in-person session from 8:30am to 6:00pm daily (with a good deal homework in the evening)
  • Complete the scheduled 4-week follow-up TeleClass (one 2-hour session per week)
  • Successfully complete the on-line self-tests
  • Accumulate 20 paid or unpaid client coaching hours with at least 3 different clients (valid from the first day of the live in-person session)
  • Agree to uphold the ICF' Ethics and Standards
  • Submit your application to become a Core Essentials Graduate (CEG)  (many students complete all requirements within 60 days)

And, if you desire, you may re-take Fast Track courses in the regular teleclass-based CEP program for up to 6 months.  The Core Essentials Fast Track Program is truly the best of both worlds – face-to-face immersion on the front end with weekly/special contact/learning for implementation and fine-tuning for six months. Click here to see the full list and description of Core Essentials and Core Essentials Fast Track courses.

During the six months that Fast Track students have to participate in CEP courses or students take courses in an advanced program, they continue to accumulate client coaching hours so that they can apply to become an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coach Federation.  Additional steps for coaches wishing to become ACC credentialed might include:

  • Continue to accumulate a total of 100 client coaching hours with a minimum of 8 clients (with up to 25% non-paid hours, these can include pre-Fast Track hours).
  • Complete 10 hours of supervision with a qualified mentor coach
  • Receive two reference letters from PCC or MCC coaches who have heard you coach at ACC level or higher
  • Demonstrate ACC Competency in live oral exam by phone

If you want to receive financial savings and register for both Core Essentials Fast Track Program (CEFTP) and advanced coach training, but you can't decide between Coach U or Corporate Coach U's advanced coach training programs, you may still enroll but state that you'd like to enter the "Undeclared Advanced Program." You can let us know your preferred advanced track at any time during the six months after your Core Essentials Fast Track Program training.  Please keep in mind that you must receive your Core Essentials Graduate designation before you can register and take specific advanced courses.

Are CoachInc.com (Coach U & Corporate Coach U) programs accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF)?

Yes -- Coach U and Corporate Coach U's advanced certifications are fully accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF).  This enables the certified graduates of our advanced programs to apply for ICF certification through the accredited schools track (ACTP), which is preferred by most coaches.

Achieving Coach U's Coach U Certified Graduate (CUCG) designation or Corporate Coach U's Corporate Coach U Certified Graduate (CCUCG) designation will allow you to apply for ICF certification through the ICF accredited schools track (ACTP track). Most professional coaches strive to achieve the ICF's Professional Certified Coach (PCC) or Master Certified Coach (MCC) designations.

Please review the following two PDF files for more information on how to become a certified coach.  You'll note that the steps above (and designations) will correlate to the table and flowchart here.
