
International Certification. When students have fulfilled the ICF requirements concerning, for example,
satisfactory attendance at on-site sessions, number of coaching hours with clients and an instructor, solutions to case studies, etc., they are presented with a diploma which states that they have completed the Executive Coaching programme at the Open University. Following this, students can furthermore
apply for ACC certification (Associate Certified Coach) at ICF (International Coaching Federation) which provides them with international certification as an executive coach.
Text books. CCU (Corporate Coach University) and the publisher Wiley have published the first books of their kind on executive coaching. Included in the price of the programme are three bound and carefully designed text books which will be thoroughly examined during lively classes. See further information on teaching materials here.
Equivalent to 6 ECTS. Students who complete the programme with ACC certification have the option of having the programme transferred into the RU School of Health and Education as a 6 ECTS elective course.
Instructor. The Open University is proud to introduce the instructor in the executive coaching part of the programme, Cheryl Smith. Cheryl has over 25 years of experience in leadership training for major corporations and various state agencies in the United States. She has a Master's Degree in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University, Canada and has the Master Certified Coach designation. She
has worked as an executive coach and instructor for numerous years under the auspices of CCU. Her
areas of emphasis are within leadership/executive coaching, career management, and development of outstanding teams.
Always on one´s toes. The advantage of working with a highly experienced executive coach who cares about your success is that you always have your finger on the pulse. With weekly phone meetings you get an opportunity to integrate and receive training in what you have learned. In this way, you ensure that skills you assimilate, terms, and vocabulary become a part of your tool box for the future.
Access to CCUI material. As soon as you begin the programme, you can make use of specially designed forms, evaluation eports, articles, marketing material, and other information from CCUI.
Active network of contacts. Students are encouraged to develop connections with other executive coaches in various parts of the world. They have the option of participating in numerous distance courses or on-site sessions abroad which are only intended for students who are pursuing or have completed studies in executive coaching..
International directory of executive coaches. Students and executive coaches under the auspices of CCU have the option of becoming a listed coach in the Find a Coach Directory for a nominal fee. All new students, though, are automatically listed in the Directory along with basic information on each person.
Full board and complete facilitis. During the programme, students receive full board during on-site sessions and unlimited access to the facilities of Reykjavik University in Nauthólsvík. Students furthermore have access to the wireless network of the University, as well as its library, reading facilities, and databases.
Competitive pricing. The Open University places an emphasis on keeping the price of the programme to a minimum, with consideration given to the quality and scope of the programme. The price of the Executive Coaching programme at the Open University is ISK 640.000, which is lower than the price of comparable programmes in Britain and the United States. Included in the price are two extra courses as well as the CCUI learning materials. Students can make payment in instalments via credit card. We also recommend that students explore their possibilities for having tuition subsidised by unions or possible grants.
